Canada’s largest Scouts Canada camp, Haliburton Scout Reserve (HSR), is almost 5,000 acres of Canadian Shield, located in the Haliburton Highlands in Central Ontario.
We are a non-traditional summer camp in Haliburton where your group arrives fully self-contained (all camping gear) to camp at one of our 22 campsites on our largest lake, Kennabi Lake. We have many amazing programs to offer during your stay at HSR. Book rappelling, climbing wall, sailing, kayaking, archery, riflery, trappers cabin, fishing, survival island, snorkelling, and paddle boarding!
We have thirteen lakes and ponds, thirteen sections of rivers and streams, fifteen marshes, and three beaver ponds in varying stages of succession, provide wilderness homes for a large assortment of animals, fish, birds, insects, and a significant variety of trees, shrubs, and plants.
Kennabi Lake, the largest lake on the reserve has 22 semi-wilderness sites with space for 4 – 60 campers per site. Each of these sites is accessible by water only. There are also outpost campsites on the other lakes such as Hurst Lake, primarily utilized as overnight sites or day trip destinations by groups hiking the 35 km of marked trails.
We also have campsites to book during the Spring and Fall seasons. Email us at hsr2@scouts.ca for more information!
